5k & 10k Run/Walk

In its 14
th year, the EG Run 4 Hunger is a flat, fast, certified course starting and finishing under the majestic old oak trees at Elk Grove Regional Park.

Participants can elect to do the 5k/10k individually or as a tandem for the 10k.

In addition to festive event shirts and goody-bags, all finishers will receive our first-ever commemorative finishers medal and a free ticket entered in our raffle with prizes from sponsors including the Sacramento River Cats, Strikes Bowling, California State Fair.

The top 3 overall male and female in the 5k and 10k will receive prize packages from vendors including Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Sacramento River Cats.

Baby strollers and dogs on leash, with well-behaved owners are welcome.

Event Bonus:
 Professional photographers, Facchino Photograpy, will be taking photos of participants – included with the registration fee. Click Here to locate your photos after the race.

Packet Pickup: Race bib numbers and timing chips can picked up at Dick’s Sporting Good in Elk Grove on Laguna Blvd. on Thursday, June 21st between 2 pm and 7 pm.  or Friday, June 22nd between 10 am and 7 pm.

If you cannot make it to the pick up at Dick’s, they can be picked up at the registration table in Elk Grove Park on race morning starting at 6:30 am.

Race Results 5k/10k:

Directions/Parking: Plenty of parking will be available at Elk Grove Regional Park and nearby Elk Grove High School located on Elk Grove Florin Road.


  • Top (3)* overall male and female finishers 5k & 10k
    *Top finishers will also receive a prize package from event sponsors and have their names announced at the RiverCats game the evening of June 23rd. 

Festival:   In addition to the 5k/10k runs and Youth Challenge Course (YCC), there will also be a Family Festival showcasing civic and community organizations like the Pride of Laguna Creek Lions Club and Sacramento SPCA; and other local businesses.

Food and Refreshments:  Food and refreshments will be available, along with raffle prizes tickets drawn every 15 minutes. You must be in person to win. There is no cost to attend the festival. The Pride of Laguna Creek Lions Club will be cooking pancakes for breakfast.
