Youth Challenge Course

Are your children between the ages of 6 – 12 ready to complete a unique course of challenges like no other?  The Youth Challenge Course (YCC) is an obstacle course within Elk Grove Park that contains 7 unique event zones created and hosted by community organizations.Participants:  Children between the ages of 6 – 12 will be allowed to participate. Parents can assist or view the entire event along the course. We will have monitors and refreshment stops will be available.

Schedule:  YCC will be started in waves, every 15 minutes, beginning at 8:15am to ensure a balanced flow of participants through the events. During registration, you will need to select a specific start time.

Fees/Registration: $20.00 per entry

The Goodies: All pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and finisher medal. There may also be a goodie bag with special treats from our event sponsors.


Event Bonus:

Packet Pickup: Race bib numbers and timing chips can picked up at Dick’s Sporting Good in Elk Grove on Laguna Blvd. on Thursday, June 21st between 2 pm and 7 pm.  or Friday, June 22nd between 10 am and 7 pm.

If you cannot make it to the pick up at Dick’s, they can be picked up at the registration table in Elk Grove Park on race morning starting at 6:30 am.

Course Map:  The entire YCC will take place in the Elk Grove Regional Park.  The final map with sponsor participants will be posted on June 19th.


Directions/Parking:
 Plenty of parking will be available at Elk Grove Regional Park and nearby Elk Grove High School located on Elk Grove Florin Road.

Festival:   In addition to the Youth Challenge Course and 5k/10k runs, there will also be a festival showcasing YCC hosts; civic and community organizations like the Pride of Laguna Creek Lions Club and Sacramento SPCA; and other local businesses.

Food and Refreshments:  Food and refreshments will be available, along with raffle prizes tickets drawn every 15 minutes. You must be in person to win. There is no cost to attend the festival. The Pride of Laguna Creek Lions Club will be cooking pancakes for breakfast.
