Youth Challenge Course
June 23, 2018
Elk Grove Regional Park
The Youth Challenge Course (YCC) is a course within Elk Grove Park that contains 8 – 10 fun, unique events.
Unlike any other obstacle course races, the events in the course are created and hosted by community associations and businesses that include:
Participants: Children between the ages of 6 – 12 will be allowed to participate and be on the course. Parents can view the entire event along the course. We will have monitors and refreshment stops will be available.
Schedule: YCC will be started in waves, every 15 minutes, beginning at 7:30am to ensure a balanced flow of participants through the events. During registration, you will need to select a specific start time.
At the YCC check-in, the participant will be given an indication (bib and/or wristband) that references the start time. Times are available throughout the morning to allow for friends/family to also participate in the 5k/10k runs.
Fees/Registration: $25.00 per entry. There will be wave starts every (15) minutes starting at 7:30am to maintain a steady flow. If you have specific time you would like to start, do so now as that time slot could sell out quickly. Sign-up now by selecting this link, you will be redirected to Race Roster. They require an account to complete the registration. Participation fees are listed.
Event Bonus: Professional photographers will be taking photos of participants – included with the registration fee.
The Goodies: All pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and finisher medal. There may also be a goodie bag with special treats from our event sponsors.
Course Map: The entire YCC will take place in the Elk Grove Regional Park. The final map with sponsor participants will be posted within six weeks of the event
Directions/Parking: Plenty of parking will be available at Elk Grove Regional Park and nearby Elk Grove High School located on Elk Grove Florin Road.
Festival: In addition to the Youth Challenge Course and 5k/10k runs, there will also be a festival showcasing YCC hosts; civic and community organizations like the Lions Club and Sacramento SPCA; and other local businesses. Food and refreshments will be available, along with raffle prizes drawn every 15 minutes. You must be in person to win. There is no cost to attend the festival.
